What causes stiffness or binding when rotating the TH100 focus/zoom adjustment rings?

A: Stiffness or mechanical binding is usually caused by dried protein debris buildup in the mechanical threads, internal mechanical wear, or slight misalignment from accidental impact. Forcing the ring can strip internal gears; the assembly should be sent for professional overhaul.
